QPR boss Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink is stepping up the search for new players during the January transfer window, and Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford is one target QPR are interested in, according to the Croydon Advertiser.

Bamford who was on a season- long loan spell at Premier League side Crystal Palace until he cut it short, after only playing 119 minutes in 2015.

Queens Park Rangers are the latest club to throw their name in the hat for the 22-year-old Chelsea forward, with an array of top-flight and Championship clubs likely to be keen on the forward.

Last season Bamford was named Championship player of the year while on loan at Middlesbrough, who would also be interested in re-signing the striker.

The R's currently sit in 16th place in the Sky Bet Championship, having amassed 30 points from 25 league games - in what has been an incredibly mediocre season for the West London site.

There is mounting speculation that the R's will offload Charlie Austin in the January transfer window, so it would make sense that the club are looking to pursue another striker as a potential replacement.

QPR fans, have your say.....Would you like to see Bamford at Loftus Road? Would there be someone else better suited to QPR? Who should leave QPR during the January transfer window? Leave your comments below!
