Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of West Ham United striker Jordan Hugill on a season-long loan deal, the club have now confirmed.

The 27-year-old is surplus to requirements at the London Stadium, making just three league appearances for the Hammers and failing to find the back of the net since his move from Preston in 2018.

The powerful forward scored 30 goals in over 110 games for North End during his four-year stay at Deepdale, and scored seven goals in all competitions whilst on loan with Middlesbrough last term.

A number of clubs have been linked with Hugill's signature this summer, with the likes of Leeds, West Brom, Wigan and Bristol City all being credited with an interest in the front-man.

But now, QPR have swooped to complete the signing of Hugill on loan for the 2019/20 campaign, their 13th signing of the summer already.

Mark Warburton has already bolstered his options up top with the loan signing of Jan Mlakar from Brighton and Hove Albion last week, as the R's look to ignite a push for the play-offs next season.

They kick off their Championship season with a trip to Stoke City next Saturday.

The Verdict

I think Hugill could be a really good signing for QPR, despite enduring a tough spell with West Ham since his move to London.

He is a good Championship striker, he puts himself about a bit up top, and he adds a physical prowess to the front-line.

The big man little man partnership of Wells and Homed worked really well last season, so Hugill could prove to a shrewd signing for the R's.
