Queens Park Rangers picked up a vital point as the spectre of relegation had begun to move in at Loftus Road.

A Jarrod Bowen brace saw them trailing 2-0 at the KCOM Stadium and although there's a healthy gap between them and the bottom three, a few worried fans might have been glancing over their shoulder.

After a torrid summer the Hoops showed real resilience to briefly threaten the top six, but a collapse in the new year has seen them fall down the table.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. After Jamie Scowen had given them a 62nd minute lifeline, Tomer Hemed came to their rescue with the leveller.

The point means they're 18th in the table, eight points clear of the bottom three. Mathematically, safety is not assured but they must feel that they've now done enough.

Chairman Amit Bhatia clearly does. He took to Twitter post match to offer his congratulations on the point earned, saying: "Great response after Tuesday- a wonderful comeback that we will gain a lot of confidence from. I’m going on a heck of a bender tonight to celebrate that point."

Rangers have only won once since Boxing Day, the surprise 1-0 defeat of Leeds at the end of February.

The Verdict

Amit Bhatia seems easily pleased, but he must realise that barring a disaster, they're surely safe. A point away at Hull City might not seem like the  most impressive result, but it could be vital in the grand scheme of things.

They're now on 44 points which was enough for safety last season and should be again this time around.
