‘Quality’, ‘Class’ – Plenty of Charlton fans are impressed with this player’s display in win over Portsmouth

Charlton Athletic picked up a crucial three points in their quest to return to the Championship at the first time of asking, as they beat Portsmouth 2-0 at Fratton Park. 

Jonathan Williams opened the scoring after 26 minutes, after he finished from close-range after a well-worked move by Lee Bowyer’s side.

That lead was then doubled with eight minutes remaining, as Chuks Aneke headed home to secure the points for the Addicks over one of their promotion rivals this season in League One.

The win means that Charlton are now sat fifth in the third-tier standings, and will be hoping they can extend their winning run, which now stands at five matches.

One player that has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances since signing for the club is Andrew Shinnie, who has been a regular since arriving on loan from Luton Town.

Shinnie played the full 90 minutes against Pompey, and will be full of confidence heading into Charlton’s next match against Fleetwood Town.

Plenty of Charlton Athletic supporters were quick to take to social media to issue high-praise for the midfielder for his impact in the win over Kenny Jackett’s side.
