Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Warburton has praised winger Bright Osayi-Samuel for his excellent defensive display in the draw with Nottingham Forest.

The youngster has been a key player for the R's this season and has been brilliant going forward, adding some real zip to Warburton's side in the attacking third.

Osayi-Samuel has come onto the scene this season, and was even linked with a move to Premier League side Southampton during the January transfer window.

It's been a learning process for him, especially in what has been an inconsistent QPR team throughout the current campaign.

And, Warburton has expressed that his defensive play was brilliant on the weekend, as he showed what he can do when tracking back by making two tremendous tackles in his own defensive third.

Speaking to West London Sport, Warburton said: "Brighty did two tremendous tackles back in his own defensive third. He was really strong and came back and tackled.

"For all his good attacking play, that shows that he’s really learning and really picking up. I’m delighted for him doing that."

The verdict

Osayi-Samuel has been excellent for the R's and could well win the fans' player of the season award when the campaign comes to a close.

He's always full of energy and has the stamina and skill to consistently pose a serious threat to the opposition.

The winger has added goals and assists throughout the season but one of his main attributes is his want to drive the team forward on every occasion.

He's set to have a great career ahead of him, and it will see his confidence boosted after hearing these comments from his manager especially after earning a result at one of the best teams in the division.
