QPR will be hoping they can find some consistency in their performances in the Championship when the break from football across the UK is over.

The Hoops are currently sat 13th in the second tier standings, and are just six points adrift of the play-off places with nine games remaining in this year's campaign.

One player that has been key to their positive performances this term is Eberechi Eze, who continues to thrive under the guidance of Mark Warburton.

/B-cTmtKnGUr/">Eze recently took to Instagram to issue a throwback to their clash against Derby County earlier this season, in which the Hoops ran out narrow 2-1 winners.

Eze's QPR team-mate Jack Clarke was quick to respond to his latest social post, and labelled Eze and Rooney as 'two of the finest' in football at this moment in time.

Eze has made 39 appearances this season, and has 12 goals and eight assists to his name for Mark Warburton's side as QPR currently sit 13th in the Championship table.

It appears as though his good run of form hasn't gone unnoticed though, with the midfielder attracting interest from the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham United recently according to Football Insider.

QPR aren't due to return to action until the 2nd May due to recent off-the-field events, when they'll take on promotion-chasing West Brom in what is certain to be a tough test for Eze and his team-mates.

The Verdict:

Clarke is spot on here with his comment.

Rooney's record speaks for itself, and he's made himself a legend of English football. Eze certainly has the potential to reach a similar level to that of what Rooney did during the peak of his career, but he'll have to plot his next move carefully.

I don't think he'll be with QPR for much longer, as he's clearly a class apart from the majority of the other members of their squad.

But he's making it look easy in the Championship, and will only get better with experience going forward, so QPR are going to have a real battle on their hands in the summer to keep hold of their talisman.
