For QPR fans, the last taste of real success in the clubs history was during the 2010-2011 Championship season, when Neil Warnock guided them to the Premier League.

After a 15-year absence, the club were back in the elite of English professional football and they did it in style, beating Norwich City to top spot by four points in May 2011.

But as we all know, it's been a topsy-turvy few years for Hoops fans following that success and after various managerial and ownership changes, the west Londoners now find themselves back in the Championship and struggling.

Ian Holloway has been trusted as the man to turn fortunes back around in White City but it's going to be seriously tough after a difficult start to the current Championship season.

So in an attempt to raise some festive cheer for those long-suffering QPR supporters, we're going to take a look at one of the happier times in the club's more recent history.

With that in mind, here's a rundown of QPR's 2010-2011 Championship winning squad, and what they're up to now...

GK: Paddy Kenny

Paddy Kenny was very much the number one between the sticks during the title-winning campaign, but his career has taken quite the tumble since he left Loftus Road in 2012.

In the past year, he's played for Bury, Rotherham United and current club Northampton Town, but he's failed to make an appearance for any of them.

Retirement could very much be in the pipeline for the 38-year-old.

LB: Clint Hill

Then 32, Clint Hill was a massive part of the QPR defence that did so well to keep things tight at the back during the title-winning campaign.

He's currently on the books at resurgent Rangers up in Scotland, where he's made a handful of appearances and scored three goals this season.

CB: Kaspars Gorkšs

Arguably one of the most successful footballers to ever come from Latvia, Football League veteran Kaspars Gorkšs was a big part of Neil Warnock's side this season.

He made 43 appearances during the 2010-2011 campaign but after leaving the Hoops at the end of that season, he's featured for Reading, Wolves, Colchester United, Ergotelis and he's now with Latvian outfit FK Liepāja.

CB: Matthew Connolly

Still just 29-years-old, Matthew Connolly featured over 30 times for QPR in their title-winning season and still finds himself playing in the Championship with struggling Cardiff City.

He's been with the Bluebirds since leaving QPR in 2012 and has racked up an impressive 125 appearances since.

RB: Kyle Walker

One of the better-known players in this squad, Kyle Walker was brought in from Spurs on a loan deal for part of the season and made a massive difference in at right-back.

It was only his second taste of proper senior action having served a loan spell at Sheffield United the season before, but he's since gone on to flourish and is now one of the most respected full-backs in the country.

CM: Alejandro Faurlin

Argentine midfielder Alejandro Faurlin spent the majority of his career at Loftus Road in two individual spells, but the 2010-2011 season was arguably his best during his time at the club.

He was fantastic in the middle-of-the-park as the team secured the title, but his second stint at the club was nowhere near as successful.

These days, he's in Spain playing for Getafe.

CM: Shaun Derry

One of the most popular players of this side on the terraces that season was Shaun Derry, the tough-tackling Irishman who often found himself sitting just in front of the defence.

He's since retired from the game and is now manager of League Two side Cambridge United, who are sitting seventh in the table and looking good for the play-offs come the end of the season.

RM: Adel Taraabt

Adel Taraabt was the star of the show in this QPR side that achieved promotion, scoring 19 and assisting 16 as his team waltzed to the top of the table.

He's still just 27-years-old and is now on the books at Benfica but his career has nosedived after he achieved such success with the Hoops.

He's spent time with Fulham, AC Milan and of course Benfica since leaving Loftus Road in 2014 but he's yet to make an appearance for the Portuguese giants this season.

LM: Jamie Mackie

He's a former QPR favourite who is now back at Loftus Road but it's safe to say he's struggling to rediscover his form of old as QPR continue to slide down the table this season.

He's featured only once for the first-team this season, in the 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa and he fared much better in his earlier spell at the club.

Mackie scored nine times in the promotion winning season and whilst he wasn't always a regular starter, he was always well-used from the bench as a player that could trouble opposition sides with his pace and hard-work.

ST: Heiðar Helguson

Prior to the Icelandic international side's revival this summer, Heiðar Helguson was often cited as one of the most successful Icelandic footballers since Eidur Gudjonsson.

He scored 13 goals in QPR's title-winning season in a career that saw him play only in England, before he retired at the end of the 2012-2013 season with Cardiff City.

ST: Tommy Smith

Tommy Smith was only at Loftus Road for a couple of seasons but his hard-working and infectious attitude made him a big hit with the QPR faithful during his stint at the club.

He scored six goals in 33 appearances that season before leaving for Brentford in 2014, where he played one last season before retiring.

He's been quiet since drawing the line under his professional career but we've seen Smith doing bits of punditry work for Channel Five's Football League Tonight show.
