According to The Sun, five clubs set to play Championship football next year are chasing Hartlepool United's Nathan Thomas.

Nathan Thomas looks set to leave Hartlepool this summer after their relegation to the National League left them needing to raise money.

Middlesbrough, who have recently been relegated from the Premier League back down to the Championship, are in pole position to land the goal scoring winger after a £300,000 bid was accepted by the Pools.

They will be rivalled by Sheffield United who have also had the same bid of £300,000 accepted as they look to bolster their squad after winning promotion from League One to the Championship.

Three other clubs are interested in the former Sunderland trainee.

Fulham, QPR and Wolves are also tracking the 22-year-old, who netted nine goals during the season for Hartlepool.

During the attacker's short career so far, he has had spells with Darlington, Plymouth, Motherwell and Mansfield.
