Queens Park Rangers have taken Arsenal's Chiori Johnson on trial, as he looks to resurrect his career in the Football League.

Johnson, 20, is an energetic full back who graduated from the Hale End academy, which he joined at the age of eight. He can operate at both left back and right back and looked set for an impressive future with the Gunners.

He was a regular with the U23 side, but a knee injury has ruled him out this season.

He's now fully fit and looking to spark his career back into life. He's recently been on trial at Blackburn Rovers, but West London Sport report he's set to feature for Rangers this afternoon in the development side against Bristol City.

Johnson, who is eligible to represent Nigeria as well as England, had been training with the first team prior to his injury, having been handed his first professional contract in January 2016.

He joins another top-flight trial player, Henry Ochieng, at QPR. Ochieng is a former West Ham youth who has been at Loftus Road for a couple of weeks now after leaving National League side Leyton Orient.

The Verdict

The times, they are a-changing at Loftus Road. There's a real impetus on finding fresh talent, young players hungry to succeed. We've already spoken of Paul Smyth, Ryan Manning and Ebere Eze at FLW, but is Chiori Johnson the next name to add to the list?

If he comes back with the same potential and talent he showed prior to his injury, we could hear a lot more of the young Gunner over the coming years.
