HITC have reported that Queens Park Rangers are interested in a deal for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Elliott Bennett.

Loftus Road chief Ian Holloway has reportedly registered an interest in the 28-year-old wideman, who is going into the final year of his contract with the recently-relegated Lancashire outfit.

Bennett was unable to keep Blackburn in the second tier last season, but still impressed in his 30 appearances, where he found the back of the net on four occasions.

The 28-year-old has plenty of experience in the second tier, and that is sure to interest Holloway as he seeks to guide the West London club up the Championship table as he embarks in his first full in charge during his second tenure at Loftus Road.

Bennett has made 77 appearances in the second tier, across spells at Brighton and Hove Albion, Norwich City and Blackburn, netting five times and laying on five assists.

The Englishman also possesses experience at a higher level, with 59 Premier League appearances to his name, at Carrow Road, which saw him find the back of the next twice and laying on seven assists for his Canaries team mates.

Although born in Telford, Bennett qualifies to play for Jamaica thanks to his grandparents, and while he is still uncapped, he was called into a 2015 squad ahead of friendly encounters with Venezuela and Cuba.
