QPR made the bold decision to sack Steve McClaren as their manager after a poor run of form saw the Hoops slip into a late relegation battle.

They are currently sat 17th in the Championship table and are just eight points clear of the relegation zone, which will make concerning reading for supporters.

McClaren's departure seems to have gone down well with the club's supporters who were keen to see the back of him.

But one player could also be quietly pleased with his sacking is young star, Eberechi Eze who is didn't hit the best of form under the former England boss.

He has made 34 league starts this season and will be hoping to impress the new manager that walks through the door at Loftus Road.

Eze is one of the most promising young talents to come out of the QPR youth teams in recent years and the club certainly have high hopes for him in the future.

The 20-year-old only broke through to the first-team last season and looked like a promising, raw talent that could make it to the very top.

But he hasn't made the impact he would have hoped for in this year's league campaign, having only scored three times and assisted on three occasions.

He will be keen to showcase his talent on a more consistent basis, as he wasn't performing to the standard required when McClaren was in charge of first-team matters.

If Eze can find rediscover the form he had shown towards the end of last season, then he could potentially play his way into a move away from the club in the summer.

Although that all depends on whether he can find that consistency, which is likely after McClaren's departure on Monday.
