Leeds United have certainly justified their pre-season promotion credentials and with Marcelo Bielsa in charge at Elland Road, it doesn't seem like there is anything stopping the Whites this season.

The Leeds boss has had to deal with a number of injury problems, but his side have responded with positive results to keep themselves in the title hunt.

Bielsa's side are 2nd in the Championship table heading into the weekend's game against Steve McClaren's QPR and one man who could pose a threat to Leeds is winger Luke Freeman.

In a recent interview with talkSPORT, Freeman stated that the Yorkshire side have got an impressive squad this year as they look to challenge for promotion back to the Premier League.

"They’ve got some unbelievable talent there, but they’ve got quite a lot of foreign players on their books who probably weren’t used to Championship football before this season."

The creative midfielder admitted that he has been surprised that the Whites have been able to keep up this impressive run of form and labelled Leeds as 'one of the best teams in the league'.

"I did have an inkling they’d drop off a bit, but they’re still in a very strong position and one of the best teams in the league for sure."

It's sure to be a tough ask for Freeman and his team-mates to get anything from the game against Leeds this weekend, but with more injury worries for Marcelo Bielsa to be concerned about, the Hoops will fancy their chances of causing an upset.

The Verdict:

I would have expected Leeds to struggle in recent weeks- but they have proved me wrong and Freeman clearly rates the side too.

Marcelo Bielsa has had a ridiculous amount of injuries to deal with this season, and I expected many teams to capitalise on that growing injury list by targeting the weaker players, but they have more than stepped up to the plate when needed.

The Leeds boss has his players well drilled and I can't see them suffering their annual New Year slump, and they will certainly be in the top six by the end of the season.
