QPR have been dealt a massive transfer blow in their plans for the second half of the season, as Premier League club Burnley have recalled striker Nahki Wells from his loan spell at The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The 29-year-old has netted 15 goals in 29 appearances this season for his loan club, having been with Mark Warburton's side since the start of the season.

The recall of Wells has come as a transfer twist in the final week of the transfer window, with the striker not thought to be in the future plans of Dyche, with the striker possibly set for another move elsewhere.

One club that Wells could end up at is Bristol City, with the Robins looking to engineer a swap deal between the two clubs, as Burnley attempt to bring Bristol City central midfielder and captain Josh Brownhill back to Lancashire.

The Clarets are also thought to be interested in Robins winger Niclas Eliasson, however securing the signature of the 24-year-old Brownhill seems a higher priority on their list during the last few days of the transfer window.

The Verdict

Wells returning to Burnley sets up a big week for clubs in the Championship, as certain sides will be scrambling to secure his signature following his performances during the first half of the season.

The striker is going to be a big loss to QPR if he doesn't return to the club before the end of the week, and he will likely become another side's gain if he does move back down to the Championship.
