Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has revealed the area of his game that needs improving.

Austin has hit the ground running in the league already

This season, the striker is continuing his superb goal-scoring form after a successful year in the Premier League last time out - which saw him find the net 18 times in the top-flight. However, the 26-year-old has said to the Sun that he needs to create more chances.

The physical forward certainly has no trouble converting chances, but he is firm in his belief that he needs to improve his chance creation to work more effectively in a QPR team striving for promotion straight back to the Premier League.

The striker's comments are backed up by the statistics, as he only managed to create 23 chances in 35 Premier League games despite his admirable goal-scoring record. And Austin is keen to work on that side of his game to vary the way he approaches an attacking situation.

Speaking to the Sun about his all-round game, he commented: "You're never at the top of your game until you're Ronaldo or Messi.

"There are still bits I can improve on, like creating more chances. I need to get a certain amount of goals, but I never set targets."

But the striker will certainly be hoping that he can improve his ability to create chances due to his self-critical way of assessing his performances.

By consistently striving to improve on his weaknesses, there's no doubt that Charlie Austin will become a more complete player.

QPR take on Fulham at Craven Cottage tonight in the Sky Bet Championship as the London side search for another three points on the road. Austin will be hoping to among the goals once again, whether he is scoring them or creating them.
