The Championship returns this weekend and QPR fans will surely be hoping that their side can build up a head of steam and get back towards the upper reaches of the table.

The men from Loftus Road started strongly this season but in more recent times they have dropped down the table and will be looking to change that around quickly if they still want to challenge for the top six.

For sure, there's plenty of time to do that but they are seven points off of the play-offs and so a run of good form is needed.

Whilst we wait to see if they can do that, R's star Grant Hall has delivered an upbeat but realistic message to fans about his recovery from injury.

Hall has been out of action since the middle of pre-season but has got some minutes for the U23's in recent times and should return to the senior side soon.

He thinks, though, more games with the younger side is the primary objective with him telling the club's official website:

"I’m taking each day as it comes at the moment.

"I’m on a tailored training programme and it is just about getting match fitness now for me and when I’m 100% ready I will know.

"I think I’ll probably need a couple of Under-23 games before I can be considered. I’ve only just played 45 minutes, so this is just the start for me.

Hall, then, is working his way back and fans will hope he gets through those U23 games unscathed.

The Verdict

It's always promising to see players returning from injury and it's good to see that Hall is taking his recovery seriously by sticking to his programme.

A recurring injury needs to be avoided for the rest of the season and so a couple of more games at U23 level to build up match-fitness is not a bad idea at all.
