QPR could lose one of their key players in the summer with London Football News reporting yesterday that the club are open to offers for goalkeeper Joe Lumley.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper has made 42 appearances for the Rs in all competitions this season, keeping an impressive 16 clean sheets.

QPR may be forced to sell the goalkeeper to meet Financial Fair Play rules, but they should do everything they can to keep him at Loftus Road.

Lumley has kept 14 clean sheets in the Championship this season, the fourth highest in the league and has established himself as one of the better goalkeepers in the second tier.

He has shown with his performances for the Rs this season that he has the potential to get even better and at the age of 24, he still has plenty of time to improve.

Though he is still a fairly young goalkeeper, he has a good amount of experience in the EFL, having spent time on loan at Bristol Rovers and Blackpool.

QPR may have no choice but to consider offers for the goalkeeper, with the Bristol Post reporting earlier this week that Championship play-off hopefuls Bristol City are interested in signing him.

His impressive displays for Rangers this season are likely to have attracted interested from other clubs too and it may prove difficult from them to keep hold of the player.

QPR are currently looking for a new manager, following the sacking of Steve McClaren over two weeks ago, after less than a year in charge at Loftus Road.

It remains to be seen who will succeed McClaren, but whoever the new manager is will no doubt have their own ideas for the team ahead of next season.

They will decide what players they want to keep at Loftus Road and who should be allowed to leave, but despite the Financial Fair Play regulations they should do whatever they can to ensure Lumley remains at the club.

Lumley has done well this season and could be an important player for the future, if the club have any ambition they should do everything in their power to try to get him to stay.
