As the season has come to an end, the attention of Ian Holloway and Queens Park Rangers fans has now turned to the summer transfer window.

In a season of two halves, Queens Park Rangers initially looked like they would finish the season as one of the sides involved in the relegation dogfight, however, since the return of Ian Holloway, the club has stabilised and steadily climbed up the table.

Despite the stability and steady rise, Ian Holloway faces the large task of re-building the side from the one that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink built just twelve months ago.

It is expected that it will be a summer of transition as Holloway stamps his authority on the squad and brings in some of his domestic-based targets.

James Forrest

With James Forrest set to leave Scottish Champions Celtic in the summer after the 25-year-old winger opted to reject signing a new deal, QPR should be on alert.

Last summer, Queens Park Rangers were one of a number of English clubs who were interested in signing James Forrest, however, a move never materialised.

This season, the meteoric rise of on-loan star Patrick Roberts has seen James Forrest's place in the starting line-up come under serious threat.

Rather than competing with Patrick Roberts for a place in the starting line-up, James Forrest may opt to move south of the border where there could be guarantees of regular first team football.

As it appears that Ian Holloway is looking to bring in at least one winger in the summer, James Forrest is a player that Queens Park Rangers should look to sign in the first week of the summer window.

Fred Onyedinma

One of the standout stars in League 1 this season has been Millwall's 20-year-old winger Fred Onyedinma.

Despite only being in the earliest stages of his career, the 20-year-old winger has already made over 100 appearances for Millwall since breaking through.

After rejecting a contract extension, it has meant that the winger's contract is now set to expire in the summer despite it being against the wishes of Millwall.

This has created the unique opportunity for Queens Park Rangers to sign Onyedinma for a nominal fee which would be an astute piece of business for Ian Holloway.

With a number of Championship and Premier League sides circling around Fred Onyedinma, Queens Park Rangers should look to seal the deal for the 20-year-old winger in the first week of the summer window to stave off any other interest.
