QPR have had a rocky and underwhelming start to this season's Sky Bet Championship campaign and have already changed their manager.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink parted ways with QPR after a string of poor results and an alleged unfavourable style of play.

Ian Holloway has recently taken the helm at the club.

Holloway is a huge fans' favourite down at Loftus Road after already previously managing the club for a five year spell from 2001 through 2006.

He also spent a five year period at the club during his playing career and throughout that time he made close to 150 appearances for the club.

The new man will surely want to put his stamp on the squad in the January transfer window and it is in our opinion that he should be looking north of the border, in particular at Scottish giants Rangers who are blessed with an abundance of talent.

This article is going to take a look at two players that QPR should look to poach in January.

Andy Halliday

Andy Halliday

One player that QPR could look to poach from the Scottish giants is midfielder Andy Halliday.

Halliday has been excellent for Rangers since he joined the club in 2015 and has made almost 70 appearances for the club, netting a respectable 15 times in the process.

Halliday is actually no stranger to the Championship having played close to 40 games in England's second tier during a five year stay with Middlesbrough.

He also made a further 18 appearances in the division during a loan spell with Blackpool.

It is certainly a possibility that Halliday would regard himself as having unfinished business in the Championship and may be desperate for another crack at the English second tier.

However it remains to be seen whether Glasgow born Halliday would be keen to up sticks and move away from his family again, something which could hamper any potential move for the midfielder.

James Tavernier

James Tavernier is certainly someone that new QPR boss Ian Holl0way could look to bring in during the January transfer window.

Tavernier started his career with Newcastle United and made a total of 11 appearances for the club before he departed for Wigan Athletic.

AdTech Ad Throughout his stay with the Magpies he spent much of his time on loan at various clubs including the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Milton Keynes and Carlisle United.

However, his most successful loan spell came during a season long stay with Rotherham United.

He was influential as The Millers gained promotion via the League One play-offs having made a total of 31 appearances for the club, netting 5 times throughout the season.

Tavernier is comfortable playing anywhere down the right hand side of the pitch and would add versatility to the current QPR roster.
