Adding depth at right-back before the end of the summer window is high on QPR's list of priorities and Arsenal's Brooke Norton-Cuffy should be a player they consider after the latest developments at the Emirates.

The R's have spent much of the summer pursuing Millwall's Danny McNamara but with the Lions refusing to sell him to their Championship rivals, West London Sport has revealed that they're prepared to look elsewhere to bring in a new defender.

Mick Beale has confirmed that right-back is a position that the club is looking at while Chelsea's Dujon Sterling is a player that has been linked on a loan deal that may be made permanent in the future.

Sterling is a good option but the R's should be on red alert due to the latest reports concerning Norton-Cuffy.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the 18-year-old has signed a contract extension with the Premier League club and could now be sent out on loan to the Championship.

That is a situation that the Loftus Road outfit should be looking to take advantage of as they search for cover and competition for Osman Kakay.

It's depth they certainly need. Moses Odubajo has left the club and while Albert Adomah was a capable right wing-back last season, you feel opposition teams would look to take advantage if he was used as a right-back regularly.

Full-backs are important players under Beale, who asks them to get high up the pitch and join in with the attack to create overloads while neither Ilias Chair or Chris Willock are traditional wingers so they also provide important width.

From what he showed at Lincoln City last season and with the England U19s during their European Championships triumph, Norton-Cuffy is not a defender that shies away from getting involved in attacking areas.

He's a player that loves to burst forward and bring the ball out of defence, and he's very good at it – as his average of 3.6 progressive runs and 5.54 dribbles (47% success) per 90 illustrate (Wyscout).

From Arsenal's perspective, it benefits them to send the teenager somewhere that he's going to be asked to play front-foot, attacking football as preparation for a potential first team spot for the Gunners in the future while Beale is a well-regarded coach.

It could be a move that works well for all parties and it's one that the R's should be pursuing.
