The upcoming January transfer window is fast approaching and new boss Ian Holloway has the month of December to run the rule over his current squad and decide who should stay and who should go.

Undoubtedly Ian Holloway will also want to put his own personal stamp on this Queens Park Rangers squad by bringing in some players in this winter window.

Holloway inherited an underachieving QPR side from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and immediately got them firing again, with a 2-1 win over promotion hopefuls Norwich City.

The warning signs were there though in that game: QPR played really well in the first half but the second half was back to the same old QPR - scraping a 2-1 victory over ten men when they should be seeing the game through with ease.

This was followed up by a disappointing 3-0 loss against Ipswich, who have struggled in front of goal this term.

Here are three local players QPR could bring in on loan during the January window.

Ashley Fletcher

Queens Park Rangers could do with adding some firepower up front and West Ham's Ashley Fletcher could be the perfect man for the job.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a profitable loan spell at Barnsley last year and has looked good during his cameos in Claret and Blue so far.

After opening his account against former club Manchester United in the cup, Fletcher could do with a loan to the Championship to develop his game before staking a claim to be a regular in the first team.

Rob Holding

Rob Holding joined Arsenal in the summer from Bolton and played a few Premier League games when the Gunners were short at the back early in the season.

The England under-21 international is a physical centre half whose game is suited to the demands of the Championship.

After shipping three goals at Ipswich, Holloway could look to someone like Holding to improve the back line.

Josh Onomah

Other than Tjaronn Chery, QPR have lacked a bit of attacking sparkle in the midfield since the departures of Junior Hoilett and Matty Phillips.

Josh Onomah would be an ideal addition as he has pace, flair and end product whilst operating on the wing or just behind the striker.

The England under-21 international does feature for Tottenham sporadically but a loan spell in the Championship would prepare him better for a future on the big stage.
