QPR boss Mick Beale has claimed that young striker Sinclair Armstrong could help solve their striker depth issue this term but there is a solution they should be considering via the loan market.

The R's have already signed Tyler Roberts on loan from Leeds United but the 23-year-old is not a traditional number nine while Lyndon Dykes looks set to lead the line but has had his injury issues and the jury is out on whether Macauley Bonne is a Championship level goalscorer.

Everton's Nathan Broadhead is a player that the Loftus Road outfit should have on their radar – particularly following the latest developments at the Premier League club.

The Athletic has reported that the Toffees have offered him a new deal and are refusing to let him leave permanently but movement is expected on a loan destination soon.

Multiple Championship clubs are said to be keen on Broadhead and it would make a lot of sense if QPR were one of them.

Beale has suggested he is keen to add another striker before the transfer window closes on the 1st of September but wants players that "come and enhance the style and enhance the athleticism of the group".

We saw how effective Broadhead was getting in behind for Sunderland last season and the 24-year-old scored some vital goals for the Black Cats to help them secure promotion back to the Championship.

He would offer something different to the more physical Dykes, the creative Roberts, and poacher Bonne while he showed his quality in front of goal as a bit-part player last term.

Broadhead bagged an impressive 13 goals in 27 games for the North East club last season and will be hungry to prove himself in the second tier – with a view to returning to Goodison Park in the future.

The R's could capitalise on that mindset this season and with Sunderland talks over re-signing the forward said to be at an impasse, now may well be an ideal time for the west London club to look to beat them to the signing.

It would be a timely boost as the 2022/23 Championship campaign picks up speed and the end of the window approaches.
