QPR midfielder, Ilias Chair, is set for a new three-year contract extension at the Championship club after successful talks.

Chair has made seven appearances for the R's in all competitions so far this season, and has been impressive for Mark Warburton's new look side.

The Moroccan under-23 international was out on loan last season at League Two side, Stevenage, and was mightily impressive, scoring some excellent goals in the process with an unbelievable trait that that makes him a threat at scoring from long-range.

Now, according to talkSPORT, QPR are set to extend his contract that was due to run out in the summer of 2020.

It's a piece of business that Warburton will be happy with after implementing a number of younger players into the first-team squad ahead of the current campaign.

Chair and Eze both play in the R's midfielder with the pair's ages just 21-years-old. The potential at the club is through the roof, and after a good start to the season, optimism is back at QPR.

The Verdict

It's a good bit of business from the club as they look to tie up one of their star youngsters. Chair could be a key player, not just this season but in the future as he continues to develop and be given responsibility from boss, Warburton.

Hopefully he doesn't stagnate with this contract, sometimes younger players can get carried away, and because they know that they'll be paid, they can at times stop putting in the required effort that they were once showing which leads to problems in their development.

Chair has been a success and he got his head down brilliantly whilst on loan at Stevenage last season, and you could actually see the improvement in the midfielder as his time at the League Two side went on. It's a great bit of business for both parties.
