The 22-year-old is highly sought after and is the subject of interest from an array of top-flight clubs, including Harry Redknapp's Queens Park Rangers.

QPR were all but set to sign Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, however a deal has not materialised as of yet as a result of Ferdinand's significant wage demands.

Caulker is seen as a long term option for many sides in the top-flight, with his impressive displays for Cardiff last season boosting the defender's reputation.
