Championship side Queens Park Rangers have reportedly seen their bid for Dutch playmaker Tjaronn Chery rejected, according to HITC Sport.
Sources close to the approach are claiming that there are several other teams along with QPR fighting for the signature of the 27-year-old in the likes of Aston Villa, Lazio, Galatasary, Werder Bremen and Udinese.
Chery, who plays for FC Groningen in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands, was one of the top goal scorers in the league last year, scoring 15 goals.
In his two seasons with the side, he reached double figures in both, which would boost Rangers hopes of gaining an immediate return to the Premier League.
It is understood that Chery favours a move to England but he would want to move to a Premier League side and with Aston Villa the only top flight side who are reportedly interested, Chris Ramsey’s side look set to miss out.
