Queens Park Rangers are said to be in talks with Ryan Manning and Bright Osayi-Samuel over new contracts at Loftus Road.

QPR have had a strong start to the season under new manager Mark Warburton, sitting 9th-place in the Championship after 11 games, just a point off of the play-off places.

They’ve had some standout performers this season, and have found new first-team regulars in the likes of Ryan Manning and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Manning joined the club in January 2016 from Irish side Galway United.

He’s been in and out of the team in since his arrival, and spent the first-half of last season on-loan at Rotherham United.

This season has been his breakthrough one though, in his new position on the left of the defence.

He’s established himself as one of the league’s most creative players on the left flank, and has attracted Premier League attention with his performances.

His contract is due to expire next summer, though the club has the option to extend it a further year.

Osayi-Samuel joined QPR from Blackpool in 2017.

He too has been in and out of the side, and has flourished under Warburton’s watchful eye this year.

The verdict

These are two young players that have been integral to QPR’s strong start to the season, in particular Manning.

Fans will be delighted to hear that the club are trying to agreeing new deals for the pair.

They will be crucial players for the rest of the season, as QPR look to mount an unprecedented play-off push in Warburton’s first season in charge.
