QPR are close to finalising the loan deal for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jack Clarke until the end of the season.

Football Insider are reporting that Mark Warburton is very close to adding more strength in depth to his attacking options, as Clarke is set for another loan to the Championship with an announcement about the deal expected today.

The winger was sent out on loan to boyhood club Leeds United in the summer, but he failed to make an impression on manager Marcelo Bielsa and was only handed three appearances for the Whites during the current campaign before being recalled by Tottenham at the start of the month.

The teenager progressed through the ranks at Leeds, and moved on up into their first-team squad for the 2018-2019 season, where he made 26 appearances and found the net twice for Bielsa's side, before Tottenham chose to snap him up in the summer.

Clarke's loan move to QPR for the second half of the season will make the Championship club's attack look even stronger, as he will have to compete with the likes of Ilias Chair, Eberechi Eze, Jordan Hugill and Nahki Wells for a place in the starting XI.

The Verdict

Warburton is keen to make a push for the playoffs, and winger Clarke will be an astute signing for the club as it will be a win-win situation for all parties.

The 19-year-old will bring another dimension to the Hoops attack and provide another option to Warburton, while Tottenham will be sending him to a place where he is able to develop his game with little pressure on him.
