Queens Park Rangers duo Sean Goss and Paul Smyth are among several players that will be allowed to leave Loftus Road on loan in January, according to reports from West London Sport.

The report claims that as well as Goss and Smyth, youngsters Osman Kakay, Ilias Chair, Niko Hämäläinen and Giles Phillips will also be allowed to leave on loan in the January transfer window.

Former Manchester United midfielder Goss has failed to impress at Loftus Road due to a back injury, and hasn't made an appearance for the R's since April in 2017.

Northern Ireland international Smyth has looked bright in his four appearances for Steve McClaren's men this season, but the 21-year-old prospect will find a loan spell away from the London club beneficial for his development.

The R's have improved over the course of the season and currently sit 10th in the Championship heading into November's international break.

The Verdict

This is the right move from QPR.

Smyth is highly-rated at Loftus Road, but the only way he is going to benefit is through playing week in week out, something that the R's cannot give him at the minute due to the impressive form of Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells.

I think it's all about reigniting his career for Goss - he has looked bright in the R's under-23 side and will benefit hugely from a loan spell.
