Championship trio Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers and Reading are among the clubs chasing Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer, according to a report by The Sun.

Mount, who is currently out on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, is also on the radar of Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Werder Bremen and Sporting Lisbon.

Chelsea could loan Mount out again next season after an impressive year with Vitesse.

The 19-year-old broke into the first-team with the Dutch club back in November and he has established himself as a regular since then, playing 35 games in the Eredivisie and the Europa League.

The highly impressive attacking midfielder has weighed in with nine goals and nine assists this season, alerting a host of clubs who are chasing his services on loan next year.

Dutch giants Ajax and PSV are keen to keep the youngster in Holland after seeing what he can do in the Eredivisie firsthand while German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and Portuguese giants Sporting CP are also in the hunt.

But Championship trio Norwich, QPR and Reading will try to convince Chelsea that Mount would develop well with game time in England.

Norwich are eyeing a replacement for James Maddison, who is likely to be Premier League bound this summer, while QPR and Reading need to add a creative spark to their midfield to push up the league table next year.

The Verdict

Mount is one of England's best youth prospects and the talented teenager could be a shrewd signing in the Championship.

With such natural flair and attacking talent, the England under-19 international offers goals and assists from midfield.

Whether he can replicate this season's form in the Championship remains to be seen but he certainly has the talent to stand out in the second tier and really prove to Chelsea that he is ready for the step-up to the Premier League in the 2019/20 season.
