QPR prepare for life after Matt Phillips with quick-fire French winger bid

QPR have began their pursuit for a new winger after placing a formal offer for FC Metz winger Yeni Ngbakoto, according to France Football.

The West London side are in the market for a new wide man after losing Matty Phillips to West Bromwich Albion today in a £5.5 million deal.

The Rs are targeting the French winger to succeed Phillips, who is an exciting proposition after helping his side FC Metz seal promotion from Ligue 2 into the French top-flight.

The 24-year old had a tremendous campaign for his side – netting 12 goals and providing 11 assists that has attracted a lot of interest from France and abroad.

However, the West Londoners are said to be the first club to officially approach the newly promoted French side for the midfielder’s services.

Despite guaranteeing a place in Ligue 1 next season, Ngbakoto has strongly expressed that he would like to play for a bigger club and feels like he needs a new challenge.

Boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is looking to build a side capable of sealing promotion to the Premier League next season and is hoping that the Frenchman can help him achieve their ambitious target.
