QPR forward, Jordan Hugill, has stated that Premier League legend and R's director football, Les Ferdinand, has been hugely influential as he settles into life in West London.

Hugill has been in impressive form so far this season, and on the weekend he netted his sixth goal of the campaign in a 4-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Himself and Nahki Wells have struck up a fine partnership in recent times, that has pushed the R's into one of the candidates for a place in the top six.

The striker has put much of his good form down to the help he's got from one of the legends of the game, Les Ferdinand.

Speaking to the Kilburn Times, Hugill said: "Les is brilliant. Sometimes after games I'll go and see him and say 'what can I do better?' because he's someone that I can learn off.

"When it's someone as good as he was you can only learn from people like that so it's brilliant to have someone like that at the club.

"He's mentioned to me before that he wanted to sign me a long time ago so it's pleasing to hear that these people have watched you for a long time.

"You look at what he has (done) and it's just brilliant to have someone like that at the club who has scored as many goals as he has, played in as many games and has been at the highest level."

The Verdict

Hugill has been brilliant so far this season, and is looking back to his best in the Championship. The move to West Ham didn't really work out for him and he never got an opportunity to showcase his talents.

He seems back to his best now at QPR and is continuously improving, alongside the help of manager Mark Warburton and the clearly influential Les Ferdinand.

If he keeps netting, QPR could continue to surprise sides, as with a goalscorer there's always a bigger opportunity of winning games.
