Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stefan Johansen has admitted there's a feeling of disappointment at Loftus Road because the squad feels they could have been a few points better off at this stage, speaking to his side's media team.

The West London outfit were flying not so long ago, with their victory against Wigan Athletic in the latter stages of October allowing them to climb to the top of the table above Blackburn Rovers who had played one more game.

Their form since then has been dire though, winning one point from a possible 15 from their last five league games which is a major disappointment considering they were favourites to take all three points in some of those games.

Although the Norwich City and Coventry clashes were always going to be difficult, they will have been disappointed to have suffered a 2-1 home defeat against relegation candidates Huddersfield Town earlier this month.

They will also be disappointed by the fact they were unable to redeem themselves, suffering another narrow home defeat just days later, this time to West Bromwich Albion who had also struggled this season before the arrival of Carlos Corberan.

And Johansen has pointed to these two games as a key reason why QPR's players are slightly disappointed not to be in a better position.

He said: "When you look at the last two homes games especially, against West Brom and Huddersfield, there is a general feeling of disappointment because we could have been a few points better off, but at the same time we are in a great position."

The Verdict:

This league continues to be unpredictable and that's perhaps one reason why they shouldn't be too disheartened with some of these results, although they have a right to feel disappointed about their loss against Huddersfield.

If any game was going to be a banker in the second tier this season, it should have been this one at Loftus Road but a lot of credit has to go to Mark Fotheringham's side because they were able to secure what could be a crucial three points.

Their defeat against West Brom is slightly understandable because Carlos Corberan has managed to turn things around and on paper, Albion should be matching QPR across the pitch with the quality they have.

Still, the latter's form needs to improve after the World Cup break if they want to have any chance of being in the promotion mix at the end of the season.

They certainly have potential with the likes of Ilias Chair, Chris Willock and Lyndon Dykes all able to be major threats in the final third - but they will need to start again under a new manager following Michael Beale's departure.
