Queens Park Rangers continued their resurgence as they picked up another point away to Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.

It was a match that Steve McClaren's side felt they probably should have won after dominating possession and having 12 attempts compared to the Blues' five.

That was certainly the view of defender and summer signing Angel Rangel who took to Twitter today to give his thoughts on the draw.

"Still beyond me how we didn’t take the 3 points in a game where we were superior in every department," he wrote.

"It shows we are heading in the right direction, solid team performance that was!

"Special mention to the R’s, different class, loud and proud!"

Rangel has been one of the Rs' star performers since making his debut in a 3-0 defeat to Bristol City.

The 35-year-old has become a firm favourite with the fans for his professionalism and the way he has helped to sure up the back-line.

The Rs have not conceded in their last two games now and the arrival of Geoff Cameron from Stoke City on loan will only add to that solidity.

The verdict

Rangel has emerged as a really important figurehead in the QPR camp.

They were crying out for a leader and for someone to help bridge the divide that was growing between the club and their fans and he has done that brilliantly.

McClaren's side are enjoying a good run of form and it will be interesting to see how long it lasts.
