Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowski has joined Yeovil Town on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old will rival Stuart Nelson for the number one spot at Huish Park and could make his debut for the Glovers tonight in the National League clash at Ebbsfleet United.

Brzozowski has been at QPR since the age of eleven and while he is yet to make an appearance for the first team, he has appeared on the bench a couple of times and has featured for the Rs' under-23 side.

The goalkeeper signed a one-year contract extension with QPR earlier this summer but has now joined Yeovil on a short-term loan deal, where he will be hoping to gain more experience.

The shot-stopper has had loan spells at non-league Harlow Town and Ashford Town in the past two seasons, and has also represented his country Poland at youth level.

QPR finished 19th in the Championship last season and will be hoping to challenge further up the table this term under new manager Mark Warburton.

The Rs started their campaign with a 2-1 win at Stoke City before drawing 1-1 with Huddersfield Town at Loftus Road at the weekend.

The Verdict

I think this is a sensible decision for QPR to send Brzozowski out on loan, as there was no way he was going to get a chance in the first team at Loftus Road this season ahead of Joe Lumley

QPR obviously think that Brzozowski has got the potential to be a good goalkeeper though, otherwise they would not have named him on the bench in the past.

Sending him out on loan will allow him to gain more experience and hopefully he will get a proper chance in the first team at Yeovil.
