QPR are on the brink of completing the signing of Ipswich Town midfielder Andre Dozzell, according to West London Sport.

The R's have endured a busy start to the summer, with Jordy de Wijs, Sam Field and Charlie Austin all sealing permanent moves to West London.

Mark Warburton is edging closer to completing his fourth signing of the summer, too, with Dozzell set to arrive at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Dozzell only signed a four-year deal at Ipswich in December, but a change in management looks set to lead to a departure from Portman Road.

Paul Cook has told the majority of his squad that they are free to find new clubs this summer, as he looks to rebuild his squad.

Dozzell made 43 appearances in League One last season, and has made 93 appearances for the club since coming through the ranks.

He looks set to come in as a replacement for Tom Carroll, who has rejected a new contract and is set to leave the club on a free.

The Verdict

This could turn out to be a really shrewd of business by QPR.

Dozzell is a young player with plenty of potential, and he is highly regarded by those at Ipswich despite being told to find a new club.

It feels like a classic Mark Warburton signing, as he often likes to unearth young gems and get the best out of them.

They aren't breaking the bank, but they are getting a young midfielder who is hungry to make the step up from League One.
