Queens Park Rangers have confirmed that they have offered new deals to two first-team players.
Experienced defender Angel Rangel and young goalkeeper Seny Dieng have each been offered extended deals at Loftus Road although the details of said deals remain unknown.
Rangel has become a hugely popular figure at the West London club since signing on a free transfer back in the summer window.
The Spaniard made the move after being released by Swansea City following 11 seasons at the South Wales side, going on to make 20 Championship appearances for the Rs and notably scoring twice in the 2-2 draw away to Stoke City.
24-year-old Dieng has spent the season out on loan, initially joining Stevenage back in the summer where he made 13 League Two appearances before being sent to Dundee in the SPL, making four appearances.
It is one of the first actions taken by the club’s new boss and comes on the same day he announced that Jake Bidwell, Joel Lynch, Pawel Wszolek, Jordan Cousins and Alex Baptiste would be leaving.
I think these are both very smart deals.
Rangel has been immense at the back and has clearly been very important in the dressing room as well as on the pitch.
Dieng has had a bit of a mixed season but ultimately I still think it is smart to hand him a new deal.
