QPR had a surprisingly good start to the season, but in recent weeks have been struggling and their defensive issues are evident for all to see.

The R's have now played 18 games of the new campaign and remarkably they are still without a clean sheet and are the only club in the English Football League to have not been able to keep one.

They now have to work out a way of playing in a system to ensure that they don't keep leaking goals in every game they play.

On Wednesday night, Mark Warburton's side conceded four at home to a strong Nottingham Forest side. It was a result that was bitterly disappointing and one that leaves them sitting 16th in the Championship, despite being 4th just six games ago.

Unbelievably QPR have now conceded two goals in every game for the last ten matches. It is a shocking statistic and one that makes you question whether anything is being done to sort out the defensive shape at the club.

Warburton has to change the system as soon as possible as it is not going to end well playing in this manner for the long-term especially in the Championship. It's an unforgiving league, and if they carry on losing it will only end up with them facing a relegation battle.

It's clear to see that they have the attacking options to hurt anyone in the division, but perhaps in the next few fixtures Warburton needs to try a pragmatic approach and put men behind the ball and focus first and foremost on a clean sheet.

They have now conceded 36 goals this season, which is one less than Barnsley who have conceded the most and sit bottom of the table.

Worrying signs are starting to emerge, and supporters won't have been happy with being thrashed at home and that can have knock-on effects on the manager and his job safety.

There's no problem with their attacking play but they have to work on a defensive system to ensure that the drop down the table doesn't continue.
