Since being relegated from the Premier League in 2015, QPR have struggled to reach their former heights. To do so, they must improve in midfield.

The R's suffered a managerial change midway through the 2016-17 season as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank failed to produce results, meaning Ian Holloway made a return to Loftus Road, but he has now left too.

But nonetheless, for a Club who were playing in England's top-flight just three seasons ago, a sixteenth-place finish just simply isn't good enough.

And the first department in which they should look to improve in is midfield.

The R's scored 58 goals last season, the 13th best record in the Sky Bet Championship. But, on the other hand, they had the sixth worse defensive record - shipping seventy goals during the season.

Should the West London side look to challenge the upper echelons of the Sky Bet Championship, they will need to make additions in defence and midfield. And one of those additions should be West Bromwich Albion's Chris Brunt.

With the Baggies relegation to England's second-tier already confirmed, the West Midlands side will look to offload their financial heavyweights but maintain a promotion threat in order to make an immediate return and avoid a lengthy tenure in the Sky Bet Championship.

While Brunt failed to find the net last season, the 33-year-old created seven goals in the Baggies' relegation campaign and made an average of two key passes each game. He also furthered his ability to play in various positions, making appearances as a midfielder in central and attacking roles, as well as on the left defensive side.

Having captained the Baggies since February 2011, Brunt would bring a wealth of experience, leadership qualities and a creative element to the team.

It may be unlikely that Brunt departs The Hawthorns - especially as he heads towards the ten-year anniversary of signing for the Birmingham side - but he would definitely make a strong addition to the current crop of players at Loftus Road.
