Queens Park Rangers’ midfielder Dom Ball took to Instagram yesterday after his side’s weekend disappointment and is looking ahead to a big month for the West Londoners.

Mark Warburton would’ve felt hugely frustrated at his QPR team on Saturday as they missed the chance to go into the break on the back of a win, drawing at home to struggling Middlesbrough.

Britt Assombalonga put the visitors ahead before Nahki Wells equalised, and Jonny Howson put the ball past his own keeper to give Rangers a half-time lead.

Assombalonga scored his second midway through the second-half, securing a point for his side but condemning QPR to a fourth game without a win in the Championship.

QPR now sit in 10th going into the two-week lay-off and have been leapfrogged by neighbours Brentford after their 3-0 win at Wigan.

Dom Ball started on Saturday, starting back-to-back games after a stretch on the bench for QPR.

Reflecting on the draw yesterday, Ball posted this message on Instagram:

The verdict

The cracks are beginning to show at QPR.

It’s still a fine start for Warburton but his side set the bar so high with their early performances, and now without a win in four, face a crucial two weeks before resuming the season at Fulham in two weeks - QPR face Fulham, Forest and Derby within eight days at the end of this month.

The most alarming statistic for QPR is that they’re yet to keep a clean sheet in the Championship this season. This has to be Warburton’s sole focus over the break, organising his defence and starting to get the points back on the board.
