Queens Park Rangers must have been fearing the worst when runaway league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers raced into a 2-0 lead within 21 minutes at Molineux last Saturday.

Nuno Santo's men handed out a footballing masterclass to Sheffield United the previous weekend and with almost 70 minutes left to do the same to Ian Holloway's side, the signs were ominous.

Instead, QPR saw the first half out before grabbing a goal early in the second half through Conor Washington, recovering to put the table-toppers on the back foot and would have grabbed a point but for Conor Coady's stoppage time goal line clearance.

Josh Scowen got his first Rangers goal in their last home match, a 1-0 win over Barnsley, and says that second half fight back against Wolves has given the whole squad confidence as they prepare to host another struggling side, Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

He told the club's official website: "We're feeling confident. We can take a lot of positives out of the way we played against Wolves, especially our second half performance.

"We felt we were the better side for long periods of that game and on another day we'd have got something to show for our efforts.

"Coming back the way we did in the second half will give us a lot of confidence going into the game on Saturday."

The Verdict

QPR did perform well for large parts of that Wolves match, and beat Santo's men when they played at Loftus Road earlier in the season - so it is clear that they are capable of beating anyone in the league on their day.

Bolton will try to make the game a scrappy affair and will probably appreciate the fact that QPR have to take the game to them as the home side and try to counter when they can.
