Queens Park Rangers defender Angel Rangel has admitted that it will be difficult to return to Swansea City playing for another side, report the Welsh club's official website

The 35-year-old spent 11 years at the Liberty Stadium and became a Swansea City legend in the process before being released at the end of last season.

“It’s going to be difficult coming back,” Rangel said.

“I’ve spent more than a third of my life in Swansea.

"My children were born in Swansea, I was married there and my home is there. The club means everything to me."

He made 367 appearances during his time with the Swans winning promotion from League One, the Championship playoffs and the League Cup after moving from Terrassa in 2007.

Rs manager Steve McClaren swooped for the free agent and the Spaniard has continued to impress at his new home of Loftus Road.

Swansea have made a decent start to life back in the Championship although currently sit 14th in the table on 13 points, but just five points off the automatic promotion spots.

McClaren's side, after struggling initially, have experienced a bit of a bounce and sit in 16th on ten points despite looking doomed after losing their first four games.

The verdict

Rangel was as good a servant as you can get in football during his time with Swansea City and he will undoubtedly be given a brilliant reception.

He has become a popular figure at Loftus Road as well which is a testament to the type of player he is and why he has been so successful.
