QPR boss Steve McClaren has moved to secure 19-year old forward Aramide Oteh to a new, long-term deal after he impressed in the early stages of the season.

West London Sport reports that the youngster, released by Spurs in 2017, is to be offered a three-year deal which will tie him to the club until 2021.

His current deal runs out at the end of the season, although there is the option to extend it for one more season.

Oteh, who can play on the left wing as well as his favoured role up front, first joined the Spurs academy as an under 8, but left to join QPR in February 2017 without making the break through to the first team.

He's since made six Championship appearances for the Hoops, three as starts, scoring once against Burton in January this year.

He has yet to appear for the first team this campaign, but has impressed Steve McClaren who is now keen to tie him down to a longer deal.

The Verdict

Oteh hasn't made a huge impact just yet, but he's another of those precocious QPR youngsters just waiting to announce themselves on the first team stage.

He'll follow the likes of Eze into the first team, but only when he's ready.

This new deal will just protect the club's interests and allow them to develop him without fear of him walking away in the summer, or holding the club to ransom if he does break through suddenly.
