Queens Park Rangers have been handed a major boost ahead of their clash with Leeds United tonight, with the news that midfielder Luke Freeman has been declared fit to play, reports West London Sport.

The 26-year old has been the R's standout player in what has been a difficult season so far, scoring seven goals and producing four assists for the West London club from the wing.

The Rangers' talisman missed out in their 2-0 defeat to Middlesbrough last weekend with a hip problem, and there were doubts over whether he would be fit for tonight's home clash with Leeds United.

But news has now emerged that Freeman has been declared fit to play against the high-flying Whites, and is likely to replace Ryan Manning who was taken off at half-time at the Riverside last week.

The R's are enduring a dismal run of form at present having lost their last seven league games - Steve McClaren's have dropped to 18th position in the Sky Bet Championship table, and are still searching for their first win of the calendar year.

Marcelo Bielsa's men will be looking to return to the automatic promotion places with a win tonight - the Whites eased past Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, with a 2-1 win at Elland Road.

The Verdict

This is a real boost for Queens Park Rangers, however it could be a massive blow for Leeds in their pursuit of gaining all three points tonight.

Freeman is a very talented playmaker, he makes things happen for the R's and if they are going to pick up their first win of 2019 tonight, then they have a greater chance of doing so with Freeman in their team.

If Leeds can pick up a win tonight, it would be a huge result for Bielsa's men, however they will have to keep their opponent's talisman under control...
