Queens Park Rangers forward Jamie Mackie has suffered an ankle ligament injury, as the club have confirmed via their official website.
The former Nottingham Forest man was just recovering from a hamstring injury which he suffered last season. He was just in the process of getting back to running when he suffered a new injury to his ankle.
The club have confirmed that Mackie will miss at least three months of the season, if not more which is a big blow to Rangers ahead of the new campaign.
Mackie, who is now 30 years of age, would no doubt have played a huge part in their season due to his ability and experience.
The Scotsman has featured over 200 times in the Championship and he also has experience of playing in the Premier League which is always handy.
But QPR will now be forced to start the season without Mackie but they will be hoping that he can get himself back to full fitness very soon.
