Queens Park Rangers could be set to move for Motherwell striker Louis Moult, according to a report by the Daily Record.

The striker, who has been in excellent form this season and already has 11 goals to his name, is a target for the London club and manager Ian Holloway, with the club set to challenge Glasgow giants Rangers for his signature.

Moult is set to leave Motherwell with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, meaning he will be free to talk to new clubs in January. However, R's manager Holloway may look to snap up Moult during the window, knowing Motherwell could sell and get some cash in the bank rather than lose Moult on a free in the summer.

QPR defeated promotion chasing Wolves yesterday to give their season fresh impetus, and adding more goals to the squad in the form of someone like Moult could be the perfect signing for the Loftus Road outfit.

Moult began his career with Stoke, but has really took off this last few months. A move to QPR is not set in stone though, with Aberdeen, Hibernian, and Rangers all reportedly vying for his signature.

The Verdict

It's always worth adding more goals to the ranks in the Championship and Moult could be a shrewd signing by QPR.

They will have to go someway to convince him to sign for them instead of Rangers, but a move to the second tier in England is always something which appeals to players north of the border, and Moult will be no different should Holloway come knocking.
