After their terrible luck with injuries, QPR thought it had begun to change when Conor Washington and Josh Scowen returned to the fold.

As well as that, Ian Holloway was hopeful that Joel Lynch would return to the fold to ease his well-known defensive crisis.

However, according to West London Sport, the powerful defender will not make it in time for tomorrow's clash with Burton Albion at Loftus Road.

Nedum Onuoha last week joined Steven Caulker, Grant Hall and James Perch as being unavailable to play after he suffered a torn hamstring that will likely keep him out until 2018.

In further bad news, Australian international Massimo Luongo has gone down with an illness and is looking increasingly unlikely to play against the Brewers.

The R's weakened defence has conceded five goals in their last two games, but they will be hoping to extend their unbeaten home run to six games tomorrow and stay in the top half of the table.

The Verdict

Ian Holloway has had real bad luck with injuries so far this season and will be disappointed Joel Lynch hasn't recovered in time to ease his defensive crisis.

The absence of Luongo could also be significant and with three games in the next week, you wonder if the pair will be able to contribute.

Either way, the team showed a lot of determination and heart at Middlesbrough last week and Holloway will expect the same regardless of who's on the pitch.
