Queens Park Rangers are reportedly interested in bringing Burnley striker Nakhi Wells into the club during the loan window.

West London Sport are reporting that Burnley are willing to allow the 28-year-old to leave Turf Moor on loan, with the Hoops one of serval interested parties.

Having made the move to the Premier League, Wells has found nailing down a first-team spot more difficult with the arrival of Chris Wood and the form of Sam Vokes.

Now with chances to feature for Sean Dyche’s men on a regular basis limited, the Bermudian could be set for a temporary exit.

The former Huddersfield man has a wealth of Championship experience having spent three years at the Kirklees Stadium before a move to the Clarets.

Manager Steve McClaren is in the market for recruits during the loan window after only seeing one player arrive in the summer.

QPR lack depth and options up front this year with the Rs boss looking to fix the issues early one before the end of August and the loan window closing.

Wells is yet to feature for Burnley this season but managed ten appearances last term, failing to score.

The Verdict

Nahki Wells is a proven Championship goalscorer, so there is no surprise that a host of clubs are interested in loaning him.

Queens Park Rangers seem an unlikely move, but it depends on who else is interested and what the chances are for him to play regularly.

The Premier League move has not worked out as Wells would have hoped, but the chance to drop down a division and play more frequently should be something of interest for the 28-year-old.

Rangers need recruits, they need experience, and although unlikely, Wells would be something different for Steve McClaren, who lacks an out-and-out goal scorer.

It would be an excellent move for Rangers, but it is a long shot.
