QPR have announced that young defender Charlie Rowan has left the club to join Vanarama National League side, Barnet on loan.

The loan will last until January 2020, and the youngster will be hoping that he can make a positive impact for Barnet as the look to challenge for promotion back into the Football League.

Rowan signed for QPR in 2018 from Premier League side, Watford but is yet to feature for the QPR first-team so far in the early stages of his career.

He has previously been out on loan with Accrington Stanley whilst with the Hornets, and will be hoping to further his development away from Loftus Road this term.

But if he can get regular minutes for Barnet on loan, then he could soon be challenging for a place in the first-team at QPR in the Championship.

Barnet are currently sat 10th in the National League table, and will be hoping to build on some impressive showings so far in this year's league campaign.

It remains to be seen as to whether Rowan will be involved in their next game against Wrexham though, in what will be a tough test for Darren Currie's side on Saturday.

The Verdict:

This is a smart move by the Hoops.

Rowan isn't going to be anywhere near the first-team plans this season, so it's a smart move to loan him out to find regular game time in senior football.

The club clearly rate him highly since signing him from Watford, and if he can impress out on loan, then he could be featuring for QPR in future seasons.
