Queens Park Rangers are looking at the possibility of building a new ground on the site of the Linford Christie Stadium, confirms the club’s official website.

The proposal is at a very early stage and the club has confirmed consultation with R’s fans will take place before any further developments.

QPR chief executive, Lee Hoos, told the club’s website: “We are looking at all possible options to secure the future of the club in Hammersmith & Fulham and benefit the community.

"A potential partnership with an athletics club such as Thames Valley Harriers to create a new community stadium and an adjacent athletics track - could bring huge benefits to both clubs, as well as to the local community that is our home.”

The London club previously announced plans to build a new stadium at Old Oak, but experienced problems, forcing them to look for an alternative site.

The proposed plan includes a possibility of a ground share with Thames Valley Harriers, who are an athletics club who currently train at the Linford Christie Stadium.

A potential new ground would see QPR leave their iconic Loftus Road stadium, where they have played for a hundred years.
