Fulham, QPR and Charlton Athletic are thought to be battling it out late in the day for Coventry City midfielder Zain Westbrooke.

The report comes from Football Insider who state that the 23 year-old's performances for the Sky Blues so far have seriously impressed the trio from the capital.

Over the course of the season so far he has made 27 appearances, scoring four goals and assisting two more to help Mark Robins' side into the League One promotion picture.

All sides were eager to strengthen this month as Fulham continued their hunt for promotion and QPR and Charlton both looked to pull away from the relegation zone.

QUIZ: Can you remember the scores from Charlton’s first 12 games of this season?

Scott Parker's side currently sit in fourth place, with Mark Warburton's side 14th and 12 points above the drop zone and with the R's having lost Matt Smith earlier today.

Lee Bowyer and Charlton are perhaps the side most in need of bolstering in that area having lost Connor Gallagher earlier in the window but will they be enough of a draw?

The verdict

This would be a really good move for whichever side manages to get Westbrooke - if any.

At 23 he already looks like he could comfortably step up to the Championship and he is only going to get better. It would be a big blow for Coventry given their current prominent position and I suppose this will be a test of his confidence in the Sky Blues.

I am not sure that Fulham particularly need him, nor is the player likely to get much game time at Craven Cottage. A move to either Charlton or QPR would be very solid moves I believe.
