Finney, 20, who has been without a club since seeing his contract with Bolton Wanderers expire over the summer, played against Millwall for QPR’s U23 side last week and was in action again yesterday in a 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic.
Finney managed just three first-team appearances in two-years with Bolton, having joined from Leyton Orient, and QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is looking at his options with the club currently sat 14th in the Championship table.
Five points above the relegation zone and five points off the play-off spots, QPR need to kickstart some sort of regular form if they are to climb the standings – having lost two in a row and winning just one of their last four.
November is set to be a crucial month for QPR, who travel to the City Ground this weekend to face Nottingham Forest before hosting Norwich City after the international break and finishing the month on the road against Ipswich Town.
Their 2-0 defeat to local rivals Brentford in their last Sky Bet Championship fixture will be a bitter pill to swallow for the Hoops faithful, and a win against Nottingham Forest is a real necessity for Hasselbaink’s men.
